It is something I know for sure is that life comes in seasons. And every season has a new obstacle and adventure. For every season in my life I take a lot of pictures. So, I can remember the time, the place and how life was like just in that moment. That is why I love photography. I love looking at pictures of my nephews and niece when they were younger and remembering their sing song voices screaming Mickan (it’s a nickname I have had for many years) and my youngest nephew couldn’t say Mickan so he said Mackan instead, which means sandwich in Swedish. It was one of the most adorable things ever and every time I look at the picture of him saying it, I smile ear to ear. No matter if the season was joyful or full of pain, I’m so grateful to look at the pictures and remember the journey that shaped me to who I am today.
1. Podcasts, no matter if I’m cooking or cleaning. I love listening to podcasts.
2. Squirrels, I love seeing them everywhere and I often stop what I’m doing just so I can take videos of them! - In Sweden squirrels have reddish brown colour so I love seeing grey ones!
3. Sweet potatoes, I love them so much. If I could I would eat them every single day. Doesn’t matter if its mashed, fries or just boiled. They are delicious!
5th of May 2018 was the happiest day in my life. It was the day I married my husband.
I met Cornel online, on a dating site just days after it had been recommended to me. I gave it a shot and there he was. Intelligent looking, tall South African living in London. Stalking my profile. I thought – why is he looking at my page and not writing to me? I looked at his picture and it was something very cute and sweet about his smile. He had a superman t-shirt on in one of the pictures. I was not a fan of that. After a day or two I got my first message from Cornel. I was thrilled to get a message from someone that had actually read my profile and gave information about himself without seeing to eager or wage. Now, after years knowing Cornel, I know that he does his research, he will rewrite sentences until it is perfect. I love that about him. He is smart, funny, hard working, kind hearted and we share that most important thing in our lives, our faith.
After a month of intense Skype calls, I flew over to London to meet Cornel. We had the best first date and I was little bit in shock that this man could actually become my future husband. He was better than any guy that I have ever met and that was little bit scary. From there on we had a distance relationship for one year, got engaged 10th of September 2017 and then married in May 2018. I adore my sweet Cornel. He is a man of integrity and honesty, something that I really appreciate about him.
We live now in a cute little house in Kent, loving life as married couple and looking forward for the future. I love spending time with my husband and share everything with him. He joins me sometimes for photoshoots and I love sharing my passion for photography with him. After being through our own wedding, we appreciate and love our pictures so much. We are going to enjoy them for the rest of our lives!
In school, I struggled a lot. Dyslexia is not fun. I always knew that I needed to be really good at something and also really enjoy doing it to be able to succeed. Academics was not for me, even if I wished it was. When I discovered photography, it was full blast on. I felt it in my gut that this is something I want to work with, to grow into, to explore and live the best life I can! I still get that gut feeling when I’m taking pictures and I just know that I took one of my best pictures ever. It has not been easy at all but wow, what a journey! It is not over yet, it is still so many things I want to learn and do
!
I think all of my clients can see how happy and excited that I’m for them, on their wedding day, having their portrait taken or bringing home a newborn baby to the family. It is a blessing and a privilege to take forever memories for other people no matter where in the season of life they are.
